We are so excited to show Cody & Camille’s engagement session today. You may remember Camille from this post (and her collaborations with us here and here) but this is the first time we’re showing off her fiance Cody. We met up for a picnic in the park and got some great photos of these two together. We had lots of fun with all of the props they brought!
Camille is an artist and Cody a budding guitarist. Where Camille is loud and high energy, Cody is calm with a smile. Somehow they meet in the middle, bringing exactly what the other person needs and it works.
Our first wedding after Sarah’s maternity leave will be spent with Camille and Cody and we couldn’t be more excited to share it with them and their families! We L-O-V-E Camille’s family (hey guys!) and are honored to be a part of this so, so, so special day! Many congratulations to the happy couple!!!
Sunday morning I went over and spent some time photographing (& cuddling) Natalie in her first ‘official’ photo shoot.  Sarah said she had been prepping her all night telling her what to expect.  Whatever Sarah said to her worked because this little gal did so good!  She is a pretty chill baby in general so it wasn’t that much of a surprise that she happily slept during the whole session.
One thing little baby girls have over boys are accessories. Â How much fun it was to play dress up with Natalie! Â The pink hat I bought her during my trip to Ireland and the tan flower Sarah wore in her wedding. Â The white booties were made by a very close family friend of Sarah’s mom. Â Don’t you think she looks like an actual doll? Â As I was editing these photos Chris kept looking over my shoulder and saying, ‘She really is a pretty baby’. Â She looks just like a little china doll.
Sarah and Jon are natural parents. Â They barely even look tired (Jon a little more than Sarah, but not much more!). Â And oh, how they love her…
I hope you’ve enjoyed these photos as much as I enjoyed being able to take them. Â We’ll be back to our regular wedding talk this Thursday with an engagement session followed by a week of detail goodness from our styled shoot at The Journey Home.
Guess who decided to come and meet us Monday night? Â Little Miss Natalie!!! Â Sarah went in for a doctor’s appointment Monday morning and ended up being admitted to the hospital. Â Natalie made her entrance at 11:50 pm Monday night.
Sarah spent most of the day walking the halls and telling people not to come to the hospital. Â I didn’t get a single thing done all that day because I was so anxious to hear what was going on. Â Around 5:30 people couldn’t stay away any longer and we started to gather in the waiting room.
As the night began to get later our group trickled down to just 4 of us (it really was a late night/early morning!) – Sarah’s mom, Jon’s parents, and me.  We talked and talked until we could think of nothing left to say except, ‘when is she coming?!’.  Finally we got word at 11:55 that Natalie had been born in the form of a sweet photo of Sarah and Natalie looking happy & healthy.  Nearly as soon as we received the picture the waiting room got quiet as we were all texting friends and family the news and studying the picture to decide if her hair really was blonde (it is), how happy Sarah looked (very), and every thing else we could decipher from our lone clue to this new life.
We waited another 2 hours before being able to see Natalie but once we got back there I think we all got a second wind as we anxiously passed her around and examined her hands, feet, ears, and hair. Â Sarah and Jon were wide awake and doing well as they showed off their new pride and joy.
Welcome to parenthood Sarah and Jon! Â We are all SO happy for you. Â Natalie is such a sweet little baby already. Â We are so excited to watch her grow and see what personality develops. Â Little Miss YOU ARE SO LOVED! Â Auntie can’t wait to squeeze & love on you again!
Since Natalie decided to make her debut this week we won’t be back to the blog until next week. Â But expect more picture of this little gal soon!
We have been so blessed lately that several editors have chosen to publish our photographs. Â You may have seen some of our excited status updates with links to the articles but we thought we’d make it blog official with a round up to links of the features.
We were thrilled when we were contacted by Jessica of The Budget Saavy Bride about the possibility of featuring Will & Leslie’s wedding on her blog. Â Her blog gives tons of details directly from the Bride & Groom and Will & Leslie were so sweet to answer all of her questions. Â Click here to be taken to the feature on The Budget Saavy Bride and click here to be taken to our recap of their wedding. Â This feature includes lots of original (& awesome) video links compiled by Will & Leslie specifically for their ceremony, thank you, and even a video of their engagement, make sure and go check them out!
We are kind of in love with our new office space so we were thrilled when Style Sweets Magazine decided to publish photos of our new office space. Â Click here to read their feature of our office and click here to read our blog post about it.
I was SO excited to tell Sarah that her baby shower had been chosen by the editors of Baby Shower Wire to be featured as part of their Baby Shower Idea gallery. Â To see our photos in their gallery click here and to see our complete write up on Sarah’s shower click here to read our blog.
And in a silly turn of events, I guess someone at Style Sweets Magazine likes something we are doing because they also decided to publish a DIY project that Chris and I (ok, mostly Chris) took on last fall – our fire pit. Â Click here to see their write up and here to see our blog about it!
Sarah and I are so blessed that so many of you read this blog and enjoy the work that we do. Â Thank you all so much for supporting us on this, sometimes crazy, journey of ours and cheering us on. Â We also want to say a HUGE THANK YOU to The Budget Saavy Bride, Style Sweets Magazine, and Baby Shower Wire for publishing our work.
We are working like crazy around these parts, lots of fun stuff to share (and of course working on a bit of a time crunch with some of our upcoming excitement!)  When we aren’t working, we believe in dating our husbands AND we believe you should date your husband/fiance.  It’s so important to carve out time to be together, especially when life gets busy.  We found these articles about Non-Cheesy Date Ideas and one with 52 62 Date Ideas via Pintrest- You can follow us! So today while we’re busy working away, we thought it would be fun to share some of these ideas with you!  Most cost little to nothing, they are more about creating space to be together.  We also added “KC Twists” and links for you to check out some of the places and ideas!

Rent a tandem bike and stroll the beach. Stop at a random beachfront dive bar for a drink. (KC twist: Bike Share KC run by our friend Eric!)
Sign up for a mud run. It’s wet, dirty and you burn calories. (KC Twist: June 1st is the Color Run in Kansas City - this looks like so much fun!)
Enjoy a living room camp out! Bring out the air mattresses, unleash the junk food and watch movies all night.
Grab a glass of wine and hit the road – your neighborhood, I mean. No harm in taking an aimless evening stroll when you’re with the one you love.
Go to a Flea Market (KC Twist: River Market Antiques, First Friday & City Market)
What are your favorite Kansas City Date Ideas?
