With just 6 weeks left before Sarah’s little Miss makes her big arrival we thought it was time to spend some time with Sarah in front of the camera. I think that these photos capture Sarah exactly how she is. Â I think that Sarah is going to make a terrific mother and I hope that she will be able to look back on these and remember the supernatural experience and feelings of pregnancy.
I am so blessed to be able to share my work with such an amazing friend, who will very soon be an amazing mom!

As photographers who are small business owners sometimes you have to make tough decisions. One of those decisions for us was that we wanted to focus on weddings. Compared to a lot of photographers we don’t do many family, newborn, or senior sessions. Sometimes we do other types of sessions (see below), but we don’t actively market for them. We get a fair amount of questions about this so we thought we’d share why we chose to exclusively photograph weddings.
-We LOVE weddings. If it was socially acceptable to continually marry your husband over and over again with different weddings we’d do it. Not only are weddings fun to plan, but they are fun the day of. As a lady, since we can only speak to this side of things, it is fun to get all dressed up and be around your best friends.
-Weddings are filled with all the people that are your nearest and dearest. There is something so wonderful about seeing your community rise up in support of you as individuals and as a couple.
-Weddings represent hope for the future. Sound cheesy? It is a little bit, but it’s no coincidence that Jesus chose to perform his first miracle at a wedding. Weddings are about two people choosing to bind their lives together, it is a representation of new life. Weddings are a celebration of love, and let’s face it, who doesn’t like to be around that?
-Your weddings make us love our husbands more. Sounds weird? Sometimes we cry at your weddings. We are happy for you that someone loves you that much, and it reminds us that our husbands love us that much too.
At the end of the day we photograph weddings because there is something special about a wedding. It’s hard to define what that ‘thing’ is, but we know that we like it. It’s not that we don’t like families, seniors, or newborns (because we do). Â It’s just that we started CES to have control over our vocation so we had the freedom to create. A big part of who we are is our families. Â We realized very early on that our business could easily take over all of our family time and trump things that are most important. When we saw that things that were important (to us) being pushed aside for work we knew something had to change. We asked ourselved what we doing the most and weddings were at the top of our lists!
With all of that being said there are some other things we enjoy doing that also make the cut:Â
-Boudoir shoots. Check out our sister site to read why we love them, what you can expect from them, and how to contact us & book one.
-Any shoot with our past clients. We adore our clients. That’s not a lie and it’s not an over exaggeration to add emphasis to this post. We have so much fun with our bride & grooms that it’s kind of a let down knowing the wedding is over and the pictures have been delivered since it means we don’t know when we’re going to see them again. Â So, having a baby? We’ll take your maternity pictures! When the baby gets here we’ll take the newborn ones too. Want to send out Christmas cards? Let us know and we’ll do a family session!
-Friends and family. Duh, do I really need to explain this?
