When we met with our clients this winter one thing became apparent – we needed to think outside of the box and come up with something super FUN. Our groom is in a band, and that is a big influence on them. Our bride still wanted some classic elements, but really just wanted an event that reflected who they were as a couple (which is what a wedding should be about right?).
Almost immediatly we decided on a Retro Rock-n-Roll theme. Our clients had already told us they wanted to use blue and silver and with our theme in mind we added black and a touch of yellow. The main element that we pulled into this design are vinyl records. We started by creating this custom logo to carry throughout.

Although they didn’t want to take on many DIY projects, we did suggest that they make some record bowls for their centerpieces to sit down in. An example of one is shown in our mock up above. We also decided to have two different centerpieces, one short floral centerpiece (in the record bowls) and another with tall, varied height, glass cylindars with blue liquid (we love how the liquid looks in the light).

Some of our other favorite things about this design:
We had pretty strict criteria to stay within on this event design (including budget, location, guest count, menu, entertainment, etc) and couldn’t have been prouder when at the end of the day we met EVERY one of the criteria! Here’s what our bride had to say:
“I can’t thank you and Sarah enough for setting us on the right path. We lacked somewhere to start and you have given us that. … Once again, thank you so much for all the work you poured into our wedding! I enjoyed working with you guys.”

And because it was an early morning after a late night (after a lot of hard work), here we are showing that we aren’t just all work and no play….
