We’ve mentioned a time or two how much we love being aunties around here. Sooooo, I’m INSANELY excited to let you guys know that late this fall we’ll be welcome a new little one to the CES crew!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yup, Ginger & Chris are expecting a new baby! Sweetly dubbed, “baby Deuce.” Mr. Davis is going to be a big brother, won’t that will be the cutest thing?!! Jonathan, Natalie & I are so very excited about this addition. Can’t imagine how great this little baby will be and all that he/she will bring into our little group. Plus, Natalie will now have so many little friends on our block! HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to our besties. We think you’re awesome parents, plus you make the cutest babies! We can’t wait to meet your newest little one!!

(LOVE LOVE LOVE this picture of Davis & Natalie meeting for the first time…decades of history, friendship & love running through this picture. My bestie and our amazing babies. Shout out to Jonathan for capturing this treasured memory!)
Read moreSunday morning I went over and spent some time photographing (& cuddling) Natalie in her first ‘official’ photo shoot. Sarah said she had been prepping her all night telling her what to expect. Whatever Sarah said to her worked because this little gal did so good! She is a pretty chill baby in general so it wasn’t that much of a surprise that she happily slept during the whole session.
One thing little baby girls have over boys are accessories. How much fun it was to play dress up with Natalie! The pink hat I bought her during my trip to Ireland and the tan flower Sarah wore in her wedding. The white booties were made by a very close family friend of Sarah’s mom. Don’t you think she looks like an actual doll? As I was editing these photos Chris kept looking over my shoulder and saying, ‘She really is a pretty baby’. She looks just like a little china doll.
Sarah and Jon are natural parents. They barely even look tired (Jon a little more than Sarah, but not much more!). And oh, how they love her…
I hope you’ve enjoyed these photos as much as I enjoyed being able to take them. We’ll be back to our regular wedding talk this Thursday with an engagement session followed by a week of detail goodness from our styled shoot at The Journey Home.
Read moreGuess who decided to come and meet us Monday night? Little Miss Natalie!!! Sarah went in for a doctor’s appointment Monday morning and ended up being admitted to the hospital. Natalie made her entrance at 11:50 pm Monday night.
Sarah spent most of the day walking the halls and telling people not to come to the hospital. I didn’t get a single thing done all that day because I was so anxious to hear what was going on. Around 5:30 people couldn’t stay away any longer and we started to gather in the waiting room.
As the night began to get later our group trickled down to just 4 of us (it really was a late night/early morning!) – Sarah’s mom, Jon’s parents, and me. We talked and talked until we could think of nothing left to say except, ‘when is she coming?!’. Finally we got word at 11:55 that Natalie had been born in the form of a sweet photo of Sarah and Natalie looking happy & healthy. Nearly as soon as we received the picture the waiting room got quiet as we were all texting friends and family the news and studying the picture to decide if her hair really was blonde (it is), how happy Sarah looked (very), and every thing else we could decipher from our lone clue to this new life.
We waited another 2 hours before being able to see Natalie but once we got back there I think we all got a second wind as we anxiously passed her around and examined her hands, feet, ears, and hair. Sarah and Jon were wide awake and doing well as they showed off their new pride and joy.
Welcome to parenthood Sarah and Jon! We are all SO happy for you. Natalie is such a sweet little baby already. We are so excited to watch her grow and see what personality develops. Little Miss YOU ARE SO LOVED! Auntie can’t wait to squeeze & love on you again!
Since Natalie decided to make her debut this week we won’t be back to the blog until next week. But expect more picture of this little gal soon!

We are working like crazy around these parts, lots of fun stuff to share (and of course working on a bit of a time crunch with some of our upcoming excitement!) When we aren’t working, we believe in dating our husbands AND we believe you should date your husband/fiance. It’s so important to carve out time to be together, especially when life gets busy. We found these articles about Non-Cheesy Date Ideas and one with 52 62 Date Ideas via Pintrest- You can follow us! So today while we’re busy working away, we thought it would be fun to share some of these ideas with you! Most cost little to nothing, they are more about creating space to be together. We also added “KC Twists” and links for you to check out some of the places and ideas!

Rent a tandem bike and stroll the beach. Stop at a random beachfront dive bar for a drink. (KC twist: Bike Share KC run by our friend Eric!)
Sign up for a mud run. It’s wet, dirty and you burn calories. (KC Twist: June 1st is the Color Run in Kansas City - this looks like so much fun!)
Enjoy a living room camp out! Bring out the air mattresses, unleash the junk food and watch movies all night.
Grab a glass of wine and hit the road – your neighborhood, I mean. No harm in taking an aimless evening stroll when you’re with the one you love.
Go to a Flea Market (KC Twist: River Market Antiques, First Friday & City Market)
What are your favorite Kansas City Date Ideas?

Ginger & I talk about how we’ve known each other forever, but pictures speak loud. L-O-U-D. I was laughing, crying and covering images with my hands as I went through these. Oh my goodness, these are funny and scary all at the same time. Hoping you guys have nothing but love for us, we’re going to share these precious gems…and just nod to ourselves that people really do get better over time! Really all I have to say is, at least we had each other…
{1992-1993 Third Grade. We met.}
{Top Row: 1996-1997 Eight Grade. What in the world is going on with our hair?!}
{Bottom Row: Summer 1997. Ginger with my little sister Bekah. Me with Ginger’s little brother Caleb.}
Trust me when I say neither of us was impressed with those 8th grade pictures…time has not softened our opinion.
{Image bottom right 1998-1999 Sophomore Year, all others from 1999 Junior Year. Yea we were cheerleaders and had lots of matching hair!}
These pictures make me laugh, because I’m not sure what else to do. Honestly though, we’ve had lots of fun over the years!

Thanks for taking a stroll down “Throwback Tuesday” lane with us!
